Book winners

I’m thrilled with the excitement you  have shown for the sew along!

Rashida has done an amazing job with this book and each and every contributor is so very talented.

If you want to take a peek at a project not featured on the back cover, visit Ayumi at Pink Penguin.    She will be sharing the pincushion in the hop, but she was also a contributor to the book.    She made the Sweet Memories Photo Frame and just shared about it on her blog yesterday.  It is adorable!

Art Caddy Tote

I shared this pattern with you a few days ago and I just couldn’t resist buying it myself.

(and then I proceeded to ignore the important things on my to-do list so that I could sew it!)

My little girl is 4 and she loves art.

If there is a piece of paper to be found, 99% of the time she has written her name on it along with a portrait of her family.

I love that she is always creating, but the downside is that there are crayons, paints, markers and pieces of paper ALL over the house.

(Which kinda drives me batty!)

I knew when I saw this little tote that I had to make it.    It seriously holds everything she needs and it’s sturdy enough that it won’t topple over and spill out the contents.

LOVE it!

The pattern goes together easily and is very well written.

My biggest challenge was trying to wrestle it so that I could topstitch around the top of the bag.    The sides have super extra heavy duty interfacing that bends, but not very much and I was trying to zoom through it.

Hello Lindsey, meet Patience.

When I went slowly it was just fine.

I want to enlarge it a bit and make one for myself.   I think it would be awesome for carrying all of your sewing tools if you have a sew-in or retreat to go to.

She found it on the table this morning and yelled ‘Moooom, did you make this bag for meeeee??!!’  Then she gave me a big bear hug.

I’ll take that as approval!

Zakka Style Sew-Along!

Earlier in February, I talked about wanting to do a sew along  with Rashida’s book Zakka Style and I’m excited to finally share the details!

Amy and I have put together a sew along/blog hop that will include 24 fabulous bloggers and you!

There are 24 projects in the book and we will be sewing right through it from start to finish.

The sew along starts Monday April 2nd with the first project in the book and will continue through Monday September 10th with a new project  introduced each Monday.

Each blogger will sew a different project and will be sharing their finished project and inspiration with you.

There will be a week in between each project to give you time to sew along &  I’ll be sewing along right beside you.    I sure hope you’ll join in on the fun!

I’ll be sharing more soon, but wanted to give you a chance to prepare since you will need a copy of the book to participate.

I’ve compiled a list of some places you can purchase online and it also comes in e-book form too!

Paperback Book:

Welcome Contemporary Cloth!

I’m very excited to welcome Contemporary Cloth as a sponsor at LRstitched!

Sondra has a wonderful collection of modern fabrics that can be purchased in 1/4 yard increments.   I love being able to buy fabric in small amounts for scrap quilting!

I picked up several Yuwa japanese prints and a few of the Alexander Henry heath prints which I adore.

Thank you again, Contemporary Cloth, for your support!   Take a moment to visit Sondra’s shop, I know you’ll find something that wants to hop in your cart. :)

Using What You Have :: Scrap Quilting

I’m honored to have a quilt featured today at The Modern Quilt Guild.

This week is ‘Using What You Have’ and they asked my thoughts on scrap quilting and the inspiration for my “Sewing Circle” quilt.

This quilt is the original larger version of my Moda Bake Shop tutorial, Mod Circles Baby Quilt.

Thank you Modern Quilt Guild and hello to those of you visiting for the first time!

xo, Lindsey
