This post is part of the Zakka Style Sew Along, please visit here to catch up if you’re just joining us!

**Update: Our guest blogger for this week wasn’t able to do her post, so there will not be an inspiration post this week.   I apologize for any confusion.  Please keep Heather in your thoughts!

Hello week 16!

Last week you all made such well-dressed little elephants…

How cute?!

All of the modifications are so clever.  I especially love Simone’s addition of arms.   It really changes the look!

Alright, so we had 18 entries and the winner of the $15 gift certificate to the Intrepid Thread is #12, Kirsten @ Gemini Stitches.

Congratulations Kirsten and thank you so much to the Intrepid Thread!

This weeks project is the Patchwork Ribbon designed by Melody Miller (of Ruby Star fame).

I love the unexpected usefulness of this project!  I would have never dreamed up making fabric ribbon, but it is such a great idea and would really be the cherry on top of a handmade gift.

If you decide to make some patchwork ribbon  of your own, be sure to come back and enter it for a chance to win an AMAZING prize pack of Cosmo threads from Lecien.

You may begin linking up your finished Patchwork Ribbon today through Sunday July 22nd at 11:59 pm EST for a chance to win the Cosmo thread sampler from Lecien!

Click on the frog picture below to link up (one) of your projects or to view the entries.

Wishing you a  creative week!

Lindsey

  • It appears that the guest blogger this week has had a terrible loss in her family and has not posted about the zakka patchwork ribbon (so insignificant at a time like this!). Maybe the link to her blog should be removed?ReplyCancel

  • Lovely bookmarkers and all so different from the example.ReplyCancel

I loved this Project. I keep 2-1/2 inch squares by my sewing machine that I patch together whenever I need a break from a project– am changing threads and need to do a test or or..
I trimmed them –zig-zagged the edge and then did a straight stitch down the other side. I should add– the girls and I put together long strands similar to this project for Valentines day– cutting off 4″ portions for bookmarks. These they gave to the kids in their class. Again thanks for running this sew-along.ReplyCancel
