This is my cute basket made from Anna’s new Divided Basket pattern.
Have I told you how clever she is?
Before I saw the pattern, the divided part of the basket had me stumped. I could not think through how to sew one in and it look so neat and tidy.
Easy. SO dang easy. You will make this and have an aha moment.
I like those.
I love to organize and now after making this, I have tons of ideas of what I could use more for.
I’m in the middle of a sewing room overhaul, so I want to make some to hold scraps for my shelves.
I get ridiculous pleasure from making something that you normally would just buy at Target.
The ideas are really endless:
- hold napkins and silverware for a party
- toy storage
- changing table organizer
- scrap bin for the sewing room
- kleenex/extra toilet paper holder in the bathroom
- fruit storage for your kitchen counter
- pantry organization
- on and on and on!
The finished bag measures 13.5″wide, 7.5″ deep, 10.5″ tall including handles (7.5″ tall without). Roomy but easy to tote around.
It has 2 sturdy handles on the side and an optional front pocket.
A unique and useful pattern that I know I’ll make over and over.
I know you’ll like it too!

I am making the first with Noodleheads pattern and the divider has me stumped. I’ve sewn for 35+ years but can’t reason this out and the pictures could use an update. When you put the divider in the first half of the lining does the top edge go in first with the bottom at the bottom edge raw edge where the other half of the lining attaches?
Do you then sew along the left side? I don’t get it. SUMPED HELP>
