Circle 7 Bee :: Dana’s Quilt

As I’m finishing the  last quilt for this bee, I realized I haven’t shared my work on Dana‘s quilt!

Dana was one of the first of us to post her starter block and I was really excited about her inspiration.

Her family went on a road trip over last summer and her quilt block (a tent) was inspired by their trip.

By the time the quilt arrived to me it was BRILLIANT!   Each person added something really special.

I was inspired from the beginning by this post and I wanted to paper piece Yellowstone or Bust into the quilt somehow.

I have had the pleasure of meeting her family and they are seriously the best kind of people.   Warm, funny, caring, gracious, kind, on and on and on.

Love ya Dana, I truly savored the stitches put into this quilt for your family!

I added in the words across the bottom, the road sign with the miles they traveled, the camper and the yellow patchwork underneath.

    Love this quilt!! This has inspired me – our family to a trip to the UK last year and I think a quilt would be a great way to remember it! Now, just to find the time 🙂ReplyCancel

  • This quilt is very striking! I love the colors too. I showed it to my husband, the camper, and he thought it was way cool too. Thanks for sharing this.ReplyCancel

  • I LOVE this quilt!!! What a great idea! I love crafts that tell a story or have personal meaning!

    I am new to quilting and am striving to learn more and more each day. I found your blog through the Atlanta Modern Quilters Guild site. I couldn’t tell how active they were… is it just monthly? And can you give me more information about how you enjoy it? There’s not much of a sewing community where I am at, and we have lost a lot of the local fabric stores in the past couple years. I am interested in joining the AMQG but since it is a little bit of a drive for me, I want to hear a “real life” review before making a big day of it, if that makes sense.

    Thank you for any feedback you can give!ReplyCancel
