WIP Wednesday :: A Hot Mess

I thought about just sharing this photo and telling you that I’m working on my Tula Pink sewalong quilt.

You would never have to know what a disastrous crafter I am…

It’s kind of embarrassing.

My ‘design wall’ is struggling to stay put together, I think I might need to retire it. Heck my whole sewing room needs a makeover!

I bought the pegboard to organize my tools but it’s currently holding up the wall. I will hang it and clean up my mess.

Eventually. Right now I’m excited to start piecing the top, it feels good to finally be making a quilt. It’s been too long!

WIP Wednesday

I actually remembered it’s Wednesday… success!

Here’s what I got accomplished this week:

Completed Projects:

This was a very busy week of applique tees! I’m trying to get the shop back up and running and the rest are headed out the door to their new homes today.

I especially love the last 3. A trio of camping themed tees for siblings that are going on a special camping trip next weekend.

New Projects:
I’m working on two new projects, but nothing to show yet.

November is my month for Sew Bee It. I’m finishing up my sample blocks and getting fabric in the mail.
November also starts the first month of the Dream circle that I’m hosting for Do. Good Stitches! I’m very excited about this project and just love the charity that we will be working with, Project Night Night! I’m finishing up the design for this quilt so we can get started.

Ongoing Projects:

Threadheads Bee :: October block for Chris of Light Blue Quilt Co.

Tops Awaiting Quilting:

The poor Pinwheel Quilt is still lonely and waiting to be quilted. I’m hoping to get it finished once Holiday sewing is done.

WIP Wednesday

Let’s see what I managed to accomplish this week:

New Projects:

No new projects this week. I’m determined to bust out my current to-do list before adding anything in.

Ongoing Projects:
Simply Strings Bee: October is the last month and it’s MY month too! I chose a spider web block for this month in teals, blues, greens and grays.

I’m excited to see these blocks roll in and start piecing. I’ve been wanting to complete a string quilt for awhile now, so I’m thankful these ladies are going to help me cross #33 off my Life’s to-do list. Woot! I made a little mockup just for fun.

Then we have the September block for the {Sew Bee It.} group. Jenna chose a churn dash style block that will be made into a quilt for her daughter. One of my flying geese was a bit naughty and didn’t line up perfect. tsk tsk!

That’s it for this week. Now that everyone is starting to feel better around here, I hope to be more productive next Wed!

WIP Wednesday

I missed last weeks WIP because I didn’t realize it was Wednesday until it was Thursday.

I’m back on track this week though folks. It’s Wednesday and I might even get this posted before 10am. Woot!

On to what happened this week:

COMPLETED PROJECTS:

August Simply Strings Bee Block: Here’s the inspiration quilt, Fan Quilt. I’m really excited to see Becky’s finished quilt!

August {Sew Bee It.} Blocks: For these we were sent fabric and given freedom to do whatever we wanted. I really like this idea, so that you end up with a sampler quilt.

September Simply Strings Bee Block: I love everything about this block. Stephanie chose such gorgeous colors and a fun design.

My sewing machine quilt, Ode to Pearl, for Mini Quilt Monday

WIP Wednesday

I have completed TWO quilts this week and both of them I can’t share. How much of a bummer is that!?!

I figure if I can’t share, at least I can record that I did something this week.

So, here’s what’s happening and what’s lacking in my sewing room:

COMPLETED:

Bake Shop Tutorial Quilt for this pattern: I just finished binding last night and am putting the finishing touches on the tutorial today. HOORAY.
Kona Challenge Quilt for the Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild: Oh, man. I really really needed the internet’s opinion on this one but, alas, we were sworn to secrecy for this project. We’re having a contest, so it had to be a blind vote. It was due last Sunday and I literally finished stitching on my label 15 minutes before I turned it in. Phew.
Go Anywhere Bag
