Zakka Along Week 24 :: Nesting Boxes

This post is part of the Zakka Style Sew Along, please visit here to catch up if you’re just joining us!

I can’t believe the end is here, but today starts the last week of the Zakka Style Sew Along!

(Please click on the picture to be linked to the creator of each project.  If your project is not featured, please visit here to change your picture permissions.)

There were 27 entries last week for the $25 gift certificate to Fabricworm.  The winner is #23 Robin from Not Ever Sewing!

Congrats Robin and thank you Fabric Worm for your sponsorship of the sew along!

For the last week of the sew along, the project is an adorable trio of nesting boxes designed by Laurraine Yuyama of Patchwork Pottery.

Kati of From the Blue Chair is inspiring us this week with her set of Christmas themed nesting boxes.   They are so cute and I love the free motion stitching designs she incorporated.

Be sure to visit her, she has taken great photos to help you see the finishing technique a bit better and she’s offering a giveaway too!

After finishing your nesting boxes, come back and link them up for a chance to win a bundle of Le Femme from Robert Kaufman.

You may begin linking up your finished Nesting Boxes today through Sunday September 16th at 11:59 pm EST for a chance to win the fat quarter bundle of Le Femme from Robert Kaufman.

Click on the frog picture below to link up your (one) project or to view the entries.

Be sure to come back next week as we wrap up the sew along!

All link ups are open, so make sure to add in your projects if you completed them after the deadline.   We will have our 4th quarter drawing next week!

I have truly enjoyed the camaraderie and creativity of this group.  Thank you to each of you for joining in and contributing to make this sew along great!

Lots of love, Lindsey

  • Oh Lindsey I can’t thank you enough for this fun sew-along. I too, have never done all of the projects from one book, but sure am glad I did. I learned so much and enjoyed the group camaraderie alot. I did link up for this week, but of course, consider myself excluded from the ‘drawing’ as I already received a lovely fqs of La Femme. Thanks again!ReplyCancel

  • Susan

I didn’t know about your sew-a-long, but I certainly saw many of the items that were made on many different blogs. Thank you for introducing so many lovely projects to those of us who hop around blogdom!ReplyCancel

  • It’s the last week of the Zakka Style Sew Along people. I can see some of you sighing with relief – I’m sorry if I’ve been a bit one-topic recently! This isn’t actually my post to be linked up to the Sew Along, this is a pre-post! I saw on the discussion group on Flickr that some people had made the boxes and didn’t like the construction. I had a look, I didn’t like the construction either. Far too much hand sewing… I knew there must be an easier way. So I made mine like a bag. This post is for anyone yet to tackle the project, this might be an easier way to do it! I made one the same way as in the book too, I’ll post about that next week and then link up. I’ll also give you the links, I don’t have them right now as they won’t be posted until Monday.ReplyCancel
