Hi all!
It’s May again (yes, it’s been a year since I’ve shared in this space!) and time for another round of May is For Makers.
I hope you’ll join me this year as we look to send a little love to the indie makers by being intentional with our May purchases.
You can read more about my idea for this campaign here.
This year I wanted to widen the idea to include makers of all kinds. Yarn dyers, bag makers, pattern designers, jewelry makers. If it’s made by an independent maker, it counts! Each Monday in May, make a purchase from an indie designer and share on Instagram with the tag #mayisformakers. You can also share on your blog and link here in the comments.
I will be randomly selecting a participant each week to receive something Indie made!
I also hope to share a little more about what being a Maker means to me.
Hope you’ll join me!
xx Lindsey
I bought my first baby clothes pattern during last year’s campaign and have since bought an overlocker and stitched a whole wardrobe for my new grandson. I am looking forward to seeing the delights that this year’s campaign will bring 🙂
Great idea! I bought yesterday so I’ll post on IG today ?
This is such a great idea! I participated last year with a series of blog posts about the indie designers I purchased from, including quilt designers, a glass maker, and food writer. I am interested in so many things, and agree that our purchases help fund the costs of providing free patterns and ideas on our blogs. Kudos for extending it another year!
[…] the pattern from Carolyn fulfills my first week’s support in May Is For Makers, which Lindsey Rhodes of lrstitched is promoting for the second year. I loved the idea last year […]
[…] May is for Makers is all about supporting independent makers. I am probably stretching things a bit but I’m calling this fabric acquisition from Bernie of Needle and Foot Fine Fabrics a part of my May is for Makers acquisitions. […]
Great idea Lindsey. Supporting indie makers for their work is phenomenal. Wrote a post about it in my blog http://1stitchntime.blogspot.ca/
