Poodle Skirt

Tomorrow is my little girl’s 50th day of Kindergarten and they are celebrating all things 50’s.

Little kids decked out in poodle skirts, pony tails, white tees and blue jeans.    Too much cuteness!

It was much more cost effective to make her a skirt and I found a great tutorial for a simple circle skirt over at MADE.

I used pink fleece from JoAnn’s and found the black and white striped ribbon in the clearance section for a $1.

I printed this poodle and traced it onto a scrap of fabric that I fused with Wonder Under and then appliqued it to the skirt.

For the leash I used fabric glue to secure the ribbon in the shape I wanted and then stitched it down with matching thread.

All for $7, can’t beat that!

Good for twirling too!

  • Great skirt Lindsey!!! They were made from hard felt and the bottom of the skirt was just cut like you did it. Only thing is your skirt is way better than they used to be. Well done you.ReplyCancel
