Stitch It Swap

Jennifer and I just wrapped up a fun swap called Stitch It | Zippy Pouches.    My pouch has been received so I wanted to share what I made!

My partner loved low volume with pops of black, arrows, Anna Maria Horner and Alison Glass.

I squeezed all of that in one and made what I call the Broken Arrow Zippy!

I used this pattern for the paper pieced arrows.    I printed the pattern at 45% to get mini arrows and made each one as a whole arrow.

Part way through I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I should cut them in half.  *gasp*

Usually when I get a gut feeling, I hem and haw forever.   Which I did.    I folded them up and took pictures to ‘see’ what it might look like if I cut them in half.

Then I decided I hated it.   Then I decided I loved it.   And then I told myself to shut it and just went for it!

Go with your gut, I find it usually works out the best!

I sewed it up into a basic zippy pouch and topped it off with a gold tassel from my tutorial here.

We each stuffed our pouches with office supplies and I forgot to take a picture of what was inside.

I included some washi tape, a bundle of Cotton + Steel fabric scraps, a notebook, thread and one of my favorite pens.

I hope my partner loved everything, it was a lot of fun to make for her!

I received my pouch last Friday and totally lucked out!   Vanessa from LBG Studio was my secret partner and she sent me an amazing package!

Everything was so me and I just love the pouch!

I told her I had been eying this pouch tutorial and I am so excited to have one of my own!   The pattern is a free tutorial from Craft Passion found here.

I’m not sure yet if there will be a round two of Stitch It Swap, but I’ll be sure to let you know!  It’s a lot of fun!
